Summer holiday essentials ♡

7.20.2017

As I've just returned from a lovely week away in Zante with the girls, I thought it would be an appropriate time to share my 'holiday essentials', things you definitely shouldn't go on holiday without.

So let's get into it...

1. Sun cream- this seems like a reaaally obvious one, but with the excitement of packing all the summery outfits you can stuff in your suitcase without going over the weight allowance, you never know what you might miss.

2. A sunhat- not only can these be styled into an outfit, but they keep the sun off your head. My scalp burns to a crisp, looking like the crab you find in the sea food section, so hats are a good option for me, as well as lathering the sun cream in my parting, despite looking like I have serious dandruff (yuck).

3. Flip Flops- great for by the pool, walking to breakfast, walking round the villa, going to dinner- let's be real, you can wear those things everywhere, sleep in em' if you want!

4. SPF Lip Balm- if you know me then you will know how obsessed(!) I am with lip balms and chapsticks, so I cannot live without a lip balm on a week away, especially in a hot country. So lip balms with protection from the sun in them are definitely a favourite when travelling. My favourite one is from Forever Living, it has a minty feeling on the lips, making them tingle after a few seconds, I love it! It also makes my lips look like I've put a super glossy lip gloss on for the occasion, when really I've just whacked on a quick swipe of the lip balm.

5. A cover up- I like to take a big t-shirt with me when I go on holiday, and I have to say, every single time I go I end up wearing it at some point. When your skin isn't used to the heat it can cause heat rashes and burns more easily, so having something to cover your shoulders is always a good idea, so you can give your skin some rest.

6. A good book- I do loveee an easy reading novel to help relax on holiday, sat by the pool or chilling on the balcony, I can easily get through a few books while I'm away. Books help you to unwind, to focus on someone else's life for a while, getting engrossed in the characters' stories and troubles instead of your own. Wow, you can tell I'm a bit of a literature snob can't you??!

7. Sunglasses- I mean obviously sunglasses are a must, and if you've made it to this point in the post you'll probably be thinking, oh she's stating the obvious now, but you never know what you might forget! They can be good hair accessories, if they don't have those annoying nose rests on that get stuck in your hair for about an hour at a time!

So there we go, my holiday essentials, and then obviously don't forget a few clean pairs of underwear and you'll be great! 😉
