Being comfortable in your own skin ♡

8.07.2017

When I was shooting my last set of outfit pictures with my sister, who I definitely do not give enough credit for all of the beautiful shots she has created (!), we both realised that I can be somewhat awkward, most, or all, of the time! I stand awkwardly, maybe because subconsciously I know that I'm not comfortable with what I'm wearing or how I look, or maybe because I'm just an awkward person?

I came to the conclusion that it was the particular outfit on that day, but also because I don't like my smile. That's the truth of it, no matter how hard it is to admit. I know that it is ever since my year 5 teacher insulted my smile, maybe not meaning it in a nasty way, but it has stuck with me ever since. It's surprising how things like that stay with you.

In result, I grimace in photos rather than giving a natural, teethy smile, because I'm scared of the double chin, smile lines and generally looking gross. I need to change this way of thinking.

My sister made me genuinely smile and laugh in this set of photos, and they're one of my favourite ones we've taken! I think I need to start being more accepting of my smile, because it's the only one I've got. Yeah, it may not be perfect, but I'm sure everyone has something about themselves that they dislike for reasons that other people don't even notice!

So, here is me accepting myself, and loving my smile, no matter what. I will try from now on to smile with teeth, and love what I see because it's natural and real.

I hope that we can all do the same, we only get one body, and one life, so love the body that you're in.

Can we also talk about how gorgeous this romper is??! I love the floral pattern on the shorts and the lace detail is so cute! The back also has a cross over design that makes it so comfortable, as no bra needs to be worn 😉 I can't wait to wear this on holiday in a few weeks time, will be so comfy when a little on the burnt side...
